Be a good partner and solidify your companion rescue skills. This 1 day Avalanche Rescue Skills Refresher course is the perfect way to brush up on the rescue skills learned in previous courses.

About the Course

Curriculum: This 1 day Avalanche Rescue Skills Refresher course is the perfect way to brush up on the rescue skills learned in previous courses. Substantial time is dedicated to avalanche transceiver use and will include single burial searches and multiple burial searches, including close-proximity burials. There will be 3 complex group rescue scenarios in the afternoon.

At the end of the course you will:

  • Feel confident using your avalanche transceiver
  • Understand the latest technique for shovelling and have ample practice
  • Have practiced 3 group rescue scenarios

 

Location: The location depends on the snowpack. The guide will make a decision the week leading up to the course. You may need a lift-ticket. We have discounted single ride tickets available.

Ski Guide & Owner
Mel is the owner of Mountain Addicts, an ACMG Ski Guide and Professional Member of the Canadian Avalanche Association. She began her career as a ski patroller in 2008 and now travels the world ski touring and heli-ski guiding. Mel particularly loves facilitating mountain travel confidence in women.

  • Previous AST 1 or equivalent experience.
