Take your ski touring somewhere different this spring.
Join Ski Guide Mel Makepeace for an expedition-style ski touring trip in Norway, Iceland or Svalbard, exploring remote landscapes far beyond the familiar.
Mountain Addicts partners with experienced local operators to create small-group ski touring trips in some of the world’s most spectacular northern ski destinations. Depending on the trip, that might mean skiing from a sailboat among Norwegian fjords, exploring the remote mountains of Finnmark, or travelling through the Arctic landscape of Svalbard.
These are not standard scheduled Mountain Addicts trips. We build the trips around the interest of our clients, working with our partners to select the destination and itinerary that best fits the group.
Expect long spring days, spectacular terrain and a genuine sense of adventure. Each day is planned around the weather, snowpack, terrain and experience of the group, rather than a rigid itinerary.
Typical day:
Plan for approximately 1,000–1,500 vertical metres (3,280–4,921 ft) of ascent and descent, with around 4–6 hours spent travelling in the mountains. Your guide will adapt the route and objectives to the conditions and the group.
Big days:
When the weather, snow and group are aligned, we’ll look for opportunities to go further—longer objectives, more challenging terrain and deeper into the surrounding landscape. These aren’t predetermined “challenge days”; the mountains decide when the opportunity is there.
